Tim Hudak doubles down on gas plant allegations against Kathleen Wynne, as NDP walks out of legislature

TORONTO — Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak doubled down Monday on allegations that Kathleen Wynne was in charge when a Liberal staffer wiped clean 24 computer hard drives in the premier’s office, while the NDP walked out of the Ontario legislature when the premier wasn’t there to answer to the accusations in question period.
Hudak says information from the provincial police anti-rackets squad shows the boyfriend of a deputy chief of staff to former premier Dalton McGuinty had an administrator’s access to the hard drives after Wynne had become Ontario premier-designate.
“Either she was directly involved or she was extraordinarily incompetent to see these things happen right under her nose,” he said.
He says Wynne was acting as if she were premier in late January 2013, holding meetings and directing government officials, even though she wasn’t sworn in until Feb. 11.
